What makes a great day?

A bed full of clean, folded clothes and a cute baby waking up from a long nap!

Calder doesn't have classes on Wednesday so he studied at home today! It is so much easier to get things done with him around to cuddle with Piper.
I also finished writing thank you notes which I have been putting off since November.
And I went to Target to get some more swaddler things since Piper had figured out how to get her arm halfway out of hers.

Pipsqueak waiting on us to get ready for church on Sunday. Her feet are tiny - shoes still don't fit. (Zoom in and look at those eyelashes-amazing!)

This morning this cute dad took some time to teach his baby girl about something he considered to be very important.

Star Wars Spaceships. And she was really into it.

And it was the cutest thing I've ever seen. I love my little family.

Happy Valentines Day!

I'm going to be so sad when she's old enough to have an opinion about her clothes - she's so fun to dress up! My favorite part of today - a long nap with my baby girl.
She wasn't really in the mood for pictures. I tried.
Happy Valentines Day!

Grandma and Grandpa Week

We had so much fun this week with Calder's parents in town. Piper was cranky a lot of the time but did have some happy times.

She got lots of stories from Grandma.

And snuggles from both Grandma and Grandpa.

We went out to dinner (which Piper was not very happy about - me and Calder ended up eating in shifts), to the Mall of America, and to our favorite breakfast place. On their last night here they played with Piper while me and Calder went out to dinner. We had so much fun with you here and can't wait until we live closer!

Blessing Day

This morning we blessed Piper in church. It was a beautiful day.

You'd think I was asking Calder to run a marathon with the reaction I got when I made him scoot the table out of the way to take this picture. Of course we have to take a family picture at the church.
Her Grandma Mary made this beautiful dress out of the lace from her wedding dress. The dress was huge on her (she looked so big in all the pictures!) but we got it all pinned up with safety pins and added some ribbon left over from her Aunt Mayce's wedding. Piper looked like a princess!
We got up early and left from church at 8:30. We got there and got Piper all dressed up and ready. I fed her one last time hoping that she'd stay in a good mood.
As soon as we heard church starting we hurried up and went into the chapel. Just a few minutes until it was time for the blessing. Her daddy blessed her that she would be able to recognize light from darkness, be obedient to the words of her Heavenly Father and have knowledge of Him, and recognize her great heritage - among other things. It was a short but very sweet blessing.
Piper did great and did not cry at all. She looked like a little angel when her daddy carried her up to the front.
Then after she was so good for all of sacrament meeting. She was wide awake and staring at daddy for a long time before she fell asleep in grandma's arms. She slept there all through Sunday School and half of Relief Society.
We were sad that her Grandpa Ric was sick and had to go back to the hotel after Sacrament. But we were so happy that he was able to make it to hear the blessing.
Everyone loved her pretty dress.
After church we came home and took tons of pictures. About 200 (you know... just to make sure we got some good ones). Piper was a good sport, only a few tears. I think she'll appreciate it when she's older.
Later Grandma and Grandpa came back over and we watched the Super Bowl. Go Saints!
Then she got a bath and went to bed. She gets a bath every night. Partly because it calms her down and helps her get to sleep. Mostly because I love snuggling with a clean, wet, lavender smelling baby.

(Is it just me or do I have the prettiest baby ever?)

Piper is one lucky (and very spoiled) little girl! Here are a few of her favorite new presents!

Calder's Aunt Linda made her this awesome blanket! It's super soft on both sides. One side is furry white and the other is adorable dots that match her bedroom. She's only had it for two days but has cuddled with it constantly and brought it to church today. Thanks so much!
So comfy!
This soft blankie is making me sleepy!

Aunt Becca sent her this cute outfit. Juicy Couture Baby - seriously, have you ever seen anything cuter? I don't think so.
And just is case you thought you have... check out the little feet.
That's right. Sooo cute! Thanks Aunt Becca!

And Aunt Mayce made Piper this ADORABLE little dress. (I stole the picture from Mayce's blog) It's still way big but Piper can't wait to wear it! Thanks Mayce!

And not pictured is the cutest little Juicy swimsuit that her Aunts got her. Picture pink and white stripes with lots of ruffles. We can't wait to take her swimming - we might have to take a swim in the bathtub to try it out.

She's got a TON other SUPER CUTE outfits from friends and family and LOVE all of it - thanks everyone!

All smiles this morning!

We're so excited for grandma and grandpa to come tonight!
